Judging Actors: A Brief Rant by Liz.

If there’s one thing I have learned from all of these book-to-movie adaptations over the past few years, it’s that 99.9% of the time, that casting director is not an idiot, and that actor that seems so wrong for that part is extremely right for it.

Until that first poster or trailer comes out, until you see that person in costume, speaking their lines, you have no right to judge them, especially when they show genuine interest in the story and the character.

I mean who would have thought that the kid from Bridge to Terabithia—

—would be our Peeta Mellark?

Or that the blonde one from the Volturi—

—would be the very embodiment of Jace Wayland?

And who in the heck would have thought that this 20-something blonde beauty—

—would be the perfect Katniss Everdeen?

Look, more books will be turned into movies, more actors will be chosen to embody our favorite characters, but in all seriousness, judging these people so harshly in the beginning usually ends in you looking like a complete noob.
